In 2007 the Town made a much needed overhaul to the bridge that cross the Montreal bridge.  The old bridge, which was built in 1937, was a historical marker in Matachewan.  However, the time came to replace it and the bridge now stands as a much more efficient way for large trucks traveling to the mine to cross the river.
